Immerse yourself in the Sonian Forest, meet those who care for and protect it and find out how you too can do your bit to preserve this magnificent forest.

The many partners active in and around the forest and the forest managers of the three regions, together with the Sonian Forest Foundation, offer a wide range of free activities that give young and old a unique view of the Sonian forest.

Discover how you can get involved in the forest
If you care about the forest and would like to make your own contribution as a volunteer, nature guide, … then come and meet the many partners.
They will show you how to get involved in the forest.
You can meet the partners at the information stands. They will be happy to tell you how you can work for the forest and explain the good habits in the Sonian Forest, so that you too can ensure that the forest has a bright future.

Taste delicious regional products and enjoy the terraces in the greenery
During the Sonian Forest Day you can not only relax on one of the cosy terraces in the middle of the greenery, you can also taste delicious regional products. Or opt for an organic picnic or a visit to the farmers’ market.
Start at the Gateways of the Sonian Forest
All activities of the Sonian Forest Day take place around the entrance gates of the Forêt de Soignes: Rood Klooster, Racecourse Boitsfort, Groenendaal, Middenhut, Jezus-Eik, Arboretum Tervuren, Park of Tervuren, Domaine Régional Solvay.
We invite you to come on foot or by bike as much as possible, or to use public transport.

The Sonian Forest Day is organised by the Sonian Forest Foundation – Fondation Forêt de Soignes with the support of the forest managers (Agency for Nature and Forests, Brussels Environment and Département de la Nature et des Forêts), in collaboration with the communes concerned and thanks to the enthusiasm of all the partners who are committed to organising exciting and free activities! The Day of the Sonian Forest is the focal point of ‘Forest Week’.
