In the Sonian Forest numerous associations are active working for the preservation and protection of nature: nature guides lead visitors around in the forest, naturalists map the plants and animals, enthusiastic residents in the vicinity help amphibians cross roads during massive toad transfer campaigns, pressure groups devote themselves to the preservation and protection of valuable nature, volunteers from environmental associations welcome companies to plant a small piece of the Sonian Forest together or to clean up litter.
