You will find De Woudpoort in Jezus-Eik, one of the six gateways to the Sonian Forest. In collaboration with Natuurinvest, the Flemish Agency for Nature and Forests, and Estee IJs, this former forester’s house was transformed into an ice cream parlour. But De Woudpoort has much more to offer than ice cream alone.
Feel like exploring the Sonian Forest? At De Woudpoort, you can rent bicycles on the spot or have them delivered to your home. You’ll find everything from mountain bikes to city bikes and E-bikes there. In addition, De Woudpoort is an attractive base for exploring the forest on foot. The staff is always ready to provide information, maps, and hiking and cycling routes.
When you arrive back at De Woudpoort after an invigorating hike or bike ride, you can enjoy delicious, artisanal products, such as an ice cream sundae, crepes, and other desserts. You can even indulge in a number of dishes, accompanied by a refreshing beverage. By the way, did you know that De Woudpoort also houses a microbrewery? Since 2014, brewer Laurent Noël has been putting his creativity to work in Brouwhuis De Nille. He will introduce you to unique brews: beers with coconut, mint, lemon, rosemary, Philippine tea… the choice is yours. Curious? Go have a taste and unwind in De Woudpoort!
